Some curiosities that influence her work include nature, structure + pattern, human connection, and consciousness.&nbsp; Emily brings an organized + artistic approach to design, creating enriching tools and experiences that deliver clarity and delight. Honoring wholeness and offering nourishment wherever we are on our path. Lauren MacDonald is a licensed nurse, a trained birth, postpartum and abortion doula. She offers generative health support to families and individuals in pregnancy, labor, birth, postpartum, fertility, surrogacy, bereavement, termination and menopause.&nbsp; I had the honor of creating new labels for her herbalism offerings – a delicious chai tea blend and a warming topical oil. They also grow pear and cider trees and produce their very own hard cider. I designed their logo – a whimsical snail made up of the “C” and “R” letterforms and a custom hand drawn font. They wanted the logomark to feel like a tag that they could easily write on crates and boxes of veggies that are delivered regionally to various markets and restaurants. They are dedicated to providing the local community with organic, whole-grain sourdough bread and pastries. James uses a stone-mill to mill the grain before each bake to ensure the most aromatic, flavorful, and nutritious bread.&nbsp; I had the pleasure of creating a new logo, bread bags, and totes for this special little spot. Honoring the name and coastal location, we wanted to portray the beautiful formation of pelicans flying just above the sea horizon. We decided to eliminate the expensive cost of standard printing and instead opted to use a rubber stamp to ink the front side of the cards. The back side is an embossed map of the Presidio of San Francisco, where the office is located. It was vital that the new brand address the current state of higher education: an industry that is chock-full of barriers in regards to the application process, financial aid, class schedules, ongoing educational support, and much more. These hurdles are especially arduous for students who are working, parenting, or first in their family to attend college.&nbsp;After facilitating a day-long discovery workshop, we used our findings to define Rivet School’s new positioning with a comprehensive messaging framework that included their tone of voice, mission statement, brand promise, brand pillars, and tagline. The logo also conveys human strength and integrity in a distinct and modern way.&nbsp;The logo evolution started with a rigid and abstracted human figure, taking inspiration from the structure of the “R” letterform.
